Located beneath the rail underpass on Forks Market road in Winnipeg MB, "Pivoting Puppets" is a project created during Graffiti Art Programming Inc.’s st.ART Program during the summer of 2023 with participants from Ralph Brown Community Centre and Pritchard Park.



The project explores a creative collision between art materiality and virtual reality via four unique experiences. Throughout the summer, Graffiti Art Programming provided puppet making activities where participants were able to make individual puppets formed out of foam and fasteners, which would later be stop-motion animated and displayed in virtual form. VR1 brings a virtual reality dance competition between each puppet! Refresh the page and you'll see a new dancer. VR2 places the puppets in a silly rooftop donut shop named the Donut Disco, while VR3 places random puppets in a relay race around a track. Finally, VR4 presents the "st.ART Gallery", a virtual space which showcases art and activities captured during our programming.
